Every aspect of our experience from our foraging to our feasting has been created with mother nature in mind.

Our Produce

Our menu is hyper-seasonal celebrating the best of British produce which we grow ourselves in our no-dig vegetable patch less than 300 metres from where each guest dines.

In addition, we incorporate a number of wild ingredients into our feast throughout the year handpicked from the surroundings.

Our feast is cooked over fire using seasoned wood sourced from the surroundings.

We offset this through generous guest donations and plant over 1000 new trees each year.

World Earth Day with Meta

"Choose Earth" poster for Meta's World earth Day Corporate Experience

In April last year, we invited 30 of the UK’s leading digital creators spanning disciplines such as art, music, food, sport, filmmaking, tech and comedy to celebrate World Earth Day amongst the bluebells. Guests enjoyed an hour-long foraging tour where they learned to pick native ingredients such as sorrel, gorse, bittercress and wild garlic before a round table discussion was sensitively moderated on the current climate crisis and measures currently taken to address it during a fully vegetarian feast sourced from within a 5-mile radius of our woodland.

Dining with Leading Hotels of The World

Chef wearing a Leading Hotels of the World black apron carrying some cocktails

Our first-ever corporate event was back in 2018. We hosted a feast over fire for Leading Hotels of The World, celebrating 4 of their alpine hotels and welcoming leading hoteliers and travel agents from across the world on what transpired to be the hottest day on record at the time.

Guests were treated to foraged cocktails carved out of a huge block of ice named after each of the hotels, an alpine musical ensemble and a feast cooked over open fire by none other than MasterChef Winner Laurence Henry. The star of the show had to be the oak-smoked roast duck pancakes served with a fermented Scots pine syrup. This was a feast for all the senses…

Nomadic were proud hosts of the Patron Perfectionists UK bartending competition, welcoming some of the UK’s finest makers and shakers to face off in an epic woodland battle for the hearts, souls and tastebuds of the judges who crowned Kat Whyte, aka the Tequila Queen as champion. Tears were shed, and tequila was poured on what can only be described as an emotional day filled with drama, drinks and debauchery, ultimately culminating in the camaraderie that bartenders pride themselves on and a nice meal.

Our Surroundings

A series of tables, benches and a firepit mark the surroundings each reconstructed from fallen trees. Each table is decorated with wild flora and fauna gathered and grown. Our placemats too have been upcycled to ensure our footprint is limited.

We operate a zero-waste policy and use recycled, compostable plates and bowls. Any surplus food  is given to our staff at the end of each event or composted

Our People

We support a network of local ethical suppliers to ensure we minimise our carbon footprint and always ensure they are paid fairly.

We believe that a sustainable agenda should be standard business practice for all companies regardless of their scale and where they operate.

The new packaging and ingredients of the products focused on natural and low carbon footprint ingredients, recycled plastic packaging and environmentally friendly manufacturing.

Guests were enticed by the beautiful tables of Sanctuary Spa coloured leaves and flowers which were intertwined with the products and pepper potted with installations using amber, saffron and grapefruit -some of the key ingredients and scents used in the new range.

Our Feast for the guests was, roasted in the amber embers of the wood fires, platters of flame grilled vegetable “mechoui” and sustainably sourced wild, chalkstream trout, amongst freshly picked herby salads and unctuous home made dips and preserves delighted our guests.

Our foragers prepared for the influencers, a herbal tea that harked back to the key ingredients within the products, promoting self-care, wellbeing and harmonious synergy between the Nomadic woodlands and the Sanctuary Spa ethos. Our foragers always take into consideration the products being promoted and use natural ingredients from our estate. For the guests wanting a soothing moment, they made a lavender and bay tea, for those needing a pick me up – a mint and lemon balm with pink peppercorns was served.

It is always so heartwarming to see the elation on the guests faces during an experience like this, a true awakening of the senses was witnessed. When beautiful smelling products are twinned with a delectable seasonal feast amongst the natural beauty of the woodlands, a real sense of place is created and a bit of “me time” was had by all.

The Astonishingly Good One!

As a sustainable business working to eliminate as much waste as possible through locally sourced and seasonal cuisine, using compostable crockery and fermenting and pickling – Nomadic was the perfect location for a nature inspired brand such as Astonish! They have worked tirelessly to create recyclable packaging made from sustainable materials and products that are kinder to the environment.

The household cleaning product brand Astonish and its founders brought 16 brand ambassadors, influencers and well known celebrities to trial the latest product “The Good One” at Nomadic. Guests from ‘This Morning’ and online cleaning blogs were very excited to visit our woodlands and warm by the fire as the day unfolded.

The Nomadic woodlands were a perfect backdrop to highlight the key ingredients and “power” of this multi-use, all-natural cleaning product.

Guests were taken on a prescribed foraging tour of the Nomadic estate where they learned about the amazing natural cleansing characteristics of the ingredients that are seasonally abundant in our woods and how they can be used alongside products such as Astonish to cleanse not only their home, but their minds and bodies too!

We had arranged with the client to “plant” some random household items amongst our woodlands for guests to discover along their foraging tour. The items were in need of a clean and the Astonish product would no doubt have them shining and squeaky clean again! The numerous objects were gathered up by the clients and then used the Astonish cleaning product in situ to clean and work up an appetite.

Nomadic served a seasonal feast which was entirely vegan and locally sourced on a table that was beautifully decorated with wild, English flowers that highlighted the colours of the Astonish product in line with the client’s “Alice in Wonderland Tea Party” theme.

Guests were served a ‘mint medley’ foraged herbal tea which related to the natural mint scent of the new product. Our compostable loos were scented with mint candles and decorated with green leaves and foliage to subliminally match the theme and styling of the new Astonish product. At every corner of our Nomadic estate, guests could see how the team had gone to every effort to blend the flavours, colours and style of the promotional product within the event space. Both the founders and guests were thrilled with the day and looked forward to returning. We have since taken to using Astonish to clean our large gastro’s, our cast iron pots and pans that we use over the fire as they work well to bring out an unparalleled shine to our equipment!
