Gathering around a rustic table in our hidden woodland, surrounded by flickering candlelight we welcome you to savour Britain’s most loved cheeses and the sweet embrace of Tawny Dee port after your feast. This  unique dining experience is designed to celebrate the season and create unforgettable memories.

This year, by popular demand, we’ve added an additional date for this special celebration—Saturday, December 14th. Don’t miss the chance to join us for an evening of indulgence, storytelling, and a feast that honors the craft of cheesemaking and the joys of sharing it with friends and family.


The Stars of the Table: A Cheeseboard to Remember

At the heart of our festive woodland dining experience is a thoughtfully curated selection of award-winning cheeses, handpicked by Gershon & Sons, lead by die hard cheese enthusiast and cheesemonger Katherine whose encyclopedic knowledge of cheese is only surpassed by her warmth and generosity. Each cheese tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for quality.

Colston Bassett Hand-Ladled Stilton

The legacy of Stilton begins in the charming town of the same name, where Colston Bassett Dairy continues the art of hand-ladling curds—a technique that gives this cheese its smooth, creamy texture. Produced since 1913, this legendary Stilton balances minerality, saltiness, and a touch of sweetness, all sourced from milk from local farms within 1.5 miles of the dairy.

Colston Bassett Stilton is a perfect companion for a rich port, offering flavors that linger beautifully, embodying the spirit of the season.


Pitchfork Cheddar

Not all Cheddar is created equal. Pitchfork Cheddar, crafted by the Trethowan brothers in Somerset, stands apart as a member of the Slow Food Presidium, celebrating endangered traditional foods. Made using raw milk from Holstein-Jersey cows, this clothbound cheddar boasts a fudgy texture with complex, savory flavors.

Its name pays homage to the pitchforks used to toss the curds, a nod to the artisan processes that have earned it accolades like Gold at the World Cheese Awards. With its bold, rich flavor, it’s a standout on any festive table.


Sinodun Hill Goat’s Cheese

From South Oxfordshire’s Earth Trust Farm comes Sinodun Hill, an award-winning goat’s cheese crafted by Norton and Yarrow Cheese. This pyramid-shaped cheese offers a mousse-like texture and a tangy citrus flavor, complemented by hints of red fruit and almond.

Its striking appearance, with an ivory rind and occasional blue dusting, makes it a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. A favorite among cheese connoisseurs, Sinodun Hill is the epitome of artisanal excellence.


Ballylisk Smoked Triple Rose

From the heart of Co. Armagh, Ballylisk Dairies presents the Triple Rose, a triple cream cheese enriched with cream from their own pedigree herd. The result is a decadent, buttery cheese with subtle hints of salt and lemon. Smoked to perfection, it offers a flavor profile that’s as comforting as it is luxurious.
