What could be better than sitting down with a warm mug of hot chocolate around a crackling fire on a bitterly cold January evening?
Admittedly not much.
There is nothing wrong with stillness. With quiet and contemplation. Winter calls for quiet contemplation and rest. January is the month we plan our Nomadic feasting calendar for the year ahead.
Our adage for 2024 is ‘try it, you might like it’. Perhaps a humbler and less ambitious version of Walt Disneys of ‘if you dream it you can do it’ but with a similar kind of intent.
This year the team at Nomadic plan to eat more delicious food, spend time outdoors and forage. Don’t we all?
We’re also testing out a few new concepts which we hope you will like (and if you dont, too bad).
First up we have a rather special event with a champagne house whose name will be revealed in due course for a spectacular multisensory wooodland feast. You’re not invited, its VIP only were afraid.
Then its Vivaldi Amongst The Bluebells, a string quartet performance celebrating the arrival of spring surrounded by a sea of dazzling lilac as far as the eye can see. We’ve kept our ticket price at the more affordable range of the spectrum for the performance and are curating a simple but delicious supplementary food offering for guests to choose from.
A week later we dine out properly amongst the bluebells, Chef Bart Van Der Lee taking the reins is crafting a seasonally inspired menu.
You will also find us on your telly screen at some point this spring where amongst other things we will be meeting some very special guests you might know.
In the summer we have a full on season of festivities culminating in what is now becoming something of a tradition, welcoming 5 previous Masterchef Winners Nikita, Tom, Stuart, Dan and Laurence for our 6 year anniversary celebration.
What else?
We’re working on a new range of nature-focused activities for our guests to enjoy. More on these in due course. In the meantime, congratulations on making it through January – only 10 more months to Christmas!
