As conscious eaters here at Nomadic Dinners, we all love food but are always keen to explore the latest creations that are good for the planet. It was a pleasure to discover the latest range of vegetable based pasta products that ZenB are bringing to the supermarket shelves.
We welcomed ZenB Founders alongside celebrated food author and ZenB ambassador Jasmine Hemsley to hosted a product launch of their new, all-vegetable, gluten free pasta range at Nomadic.
Influencers and followers of the brand came to Nomadic to learn about how they can easily incorporate the new range into their busy schedules and lead a more ‘veggie’ focused lifestyle with the ZenB food on-the-go sauces and snacks that are sustainably made and using all natural ingredients.
Our in-house Chef Lola, worked alongside Jasmine and the ZenB team to create a menu that showcased the pasta as well as seamlessly linking our seasonal summer dishes for a woodland feast. Our moreish pumpkin seed and red pepper muhammara blended well with the instant spaghetti and the stone fruit compote had a crumbly kick with the ‘vegan bites’ from ZenB.
Our Feast for the guests was entirely plant based, roasted in the amber embers of the wood fires. Platters of flame grilled vegetable “mechoui” using our kitchen garden bounty – purple and green kohlrabi, yellow and green courgettes, freshly plucked spring onions and elephant garlic, awash with tahini, lemon juice and Zaatar were spread across the oak table. Zesty leaf salads and unctuous home made dips and preserves finished off the delicious table, fit for a vegan king!
Jasmine Hemsley hosted a Q&A by the fireside with vegan toasted marshmallows and foraged herbal teas. We talked about how to shop more sustainably, using seasonal ingredients and how midweek cooking can be a fun task, not a chore, that can keep the whole family full and meat free friendly.
Very much like Nomadic, ZenB try to use all of the vegetables, even the wonky ones too, when making their pasta products. Using Yellow Peas in their recipes, they promote cruelty free production, by growing yellow peas rather than wheat which increases fertility of the microbial soils in our ecosystem. We were thrilled to learn that eating vegetable based products like ZenB, we could help the environment and cater for gluten free diners too!
