Launching an outdoor brand can be an exciting and challenging adventure. From our experience, it can also be stressful, and time-consuming and, quite honestly, you feel out of your depth most of the time. Part of establishing a brand is the need to establish a unique identity, a strong message, and attract an audience that shares your core set of values. At Nomadic, we think of our audience as our community. Here are some tips we have picked up along the way to help you launch or relaunch your outdoor brand with impact:
1. Define Your Brand Identity
Establishing a clear brand identity is essential. At Nomadic, our brand ethos is reconnecting our guests with the natural world through the food we serve. Decide what your brand stands for, what makes it unique, and what products you will offer. Your brand identity should reflect your values, vision, and, most importantly, your passion for the outdoors.
2. Create a Strong Brand Message
Your brand message should be clear, concise, and compelling. It should communicate what your brand stands for, what makes it unique, and what kind of experience your customers can expect. Your brand message should be consistent across all your marketing channels.
3. Build a Strong Omnichannel Presence
In today’s digital world, having a strong online presence is crucial. You need to have a website that is easy to navigate, visually appealing, and optimized for search engines. You should also have active social media accounts that engage your audience and promote your brand message. But just having an online presence isn’t enough. You must look for tangible ways to continually engage your audience with your brand, such as FAM trips, away days and new product launches. These experiences help to bring your brand to life in ways which build an emotional engagement with your audience.
4. Collaborate with Influencers
Collaborating with influencers can help you reach a wider audience and build credibility. Look for influencers who share your passion for the outdoors and whose audience matches your target demographic. Collaborate with them to create content that showcases your products and brand message. At Nomadic, we believe that the best collaborations should be authentic, and influencers should have a genuine affinity to our brand, and its values. That is why we never pay influencers to come to our events. Instead, we focus on providing an exceptional customer experience to each of our guests and ensure that there is always something to talk about.
5. Host Outdoor Events
Hosting outdoor events can help you build a community around your brand. Organise events that align with your brand values, such as hiking or camping trips, and invite your audience to join. This can help you foster a sense of belonging and loyalty among your customers. Over the years, we have hosted a number of such events at Nomadic. One such experience was when we hosted carbon-neutral wine brand Mudhouse for a wine pairing in our woods to showcase their unique product ranges and mark their entry into the UK market to an audience of journalists and key opinion leaders.
Launching an outdoor brand with impact requires patience, dedication, and hard work. But with a clear brand identity, message, and online presence, you can establish a brand that resonates with your audience and stands out in the market.
